Adams Street Partners Secondaries Group

Hey everyone-- I am currently a senior in undergrad (somewhat of a target, think mid-low ivy league) and I am recruiting for an analyst position with the secondaries division at Adams Street.

Just wanted to see if anyone could speak to the quality of the analyst program, and what type of deals this unit typically gets (traditional LP deals, GP-led, etc.). Any information on the training program or comp at the analyst level would also be very helpful. Also, I noticed Adams Street has many different offices and business units, so would really like to know if anyone has any idea of how good these multi-strategy firms are with mobility across offices or strategies.

Appreciate any feedback or advice!

Thanks for the reply. Is there anything about the firm you think is worth mentioning?

Adams Street is a solid firm where you’ll most likely get a good experience. Everyone I’ve interfaced with there seemed really smart and friendly. But, I wouldn’t go in with the expectation of joining secondaries and then hoping to switch into the growth equity, private credit team, etc. Not only do they have team members split between different offices but there really isn’t a lot of overlap unless you’re trying to move into fund investing. Second, Adams Street is somewhere I would probably recommend joining at the Associate level, especially secondaries. It’s a very specialized skill set, unlike doing co-invest/direct deals, so it’ll likely be harder to move if you don’t enjoy it.
