Admin works in research? travel booking, printing, binding, etc

Hey guys,

I joined ER last month, on top of research work, I have to LOTS of admin as well, and it is taking me a lot of time. I am wondering if you guys have to do the same thing, and if that is a part of job as well.

What size firm do you work at? I would imagine this would be more normal in a smaller boutique setting, but in a large bank you should be offloading some of that to an administrative assistant, especially the travel booking. Ask around the office to other teams and see how much administrative work they do. At my bank, the associate before me had been doing some stuff that should have been offloaded and I transferred those responsibilities as soon as I found out. A previous associate that didn't speak up can screw you like that because then the analyst gets used to the associate doing it and will be afraid that a change will mess things up. That being said, I do still do some level of administrative work including the occasional printing and binding, especially if it needs to be done quickly or at a weird hour.
