Advice for rising Junior
How's it going. I'm a rising Econ major and an accounting minor with a 3.0 at a non-target school. I was wondering what kind of tips you have for landing an internship although I am not the most qualified. Anything from resume to interview advice would be greatly appreciated.
Obviously going to be an uphill battle given your gpa and school, so start reaching out to any alumni you can find in the industry. Also not sure if an accounting minor means much, why not double major? I'd suggest following the WSO IB resume template https://www.wallstreetoasis.com/forums/investment-banking-resume-templa… and they also have a resume review service where they can help you more in-depth if you need it.
You're only real shot is the people who know the people you know, alumn, and the seniors above you
Or reach out to alumni at mid-market shops that don't recruit on campus (therefore not being inundated with more qualified resumes from the same school). Reach out to the alumni, and they'll probably be excited / flattered at the chance to mentor....
