Advice for Summer Analysts

I know there is already a thread called "Dos and Don'ts for SA" but I just wanted to start a new discussion since the thread is kind of old. Can past summers talk about their summer experiences? What were the best parts, what were the worst parts? Can you recall a specific great or bad day you had at the office? Any funny stories?

Also, it sounds like once you have a SA offer, the FT offer is literally yours to lose. What tips can you share for avoiding the traps the losers fall into, and successfully getting the offer?

Any other advice would be great too. Thanks.

Advice for investment banking summer internships.

Basically, volunteer to do as much work as possible, always have a positive attitude and make friends with everyone. If you don't screw up, the FT offer really is yours to lose. Don't get overly drunk when going out with others or you may something stupid and not get the offer.

Best parts of the summer experience are getting to go to meetings and actually doing real work; worst parts are being made to do gruntwork (profiles, comps) and the initial period where you're still learning and pull all-nighters just because you're inefficient.
