Advice Needed... HELP!
Graduated in 2009 from target, but got stuck doing operations at a non-bank financial institution for the past 18 months (think Bloomberg, Reuters, Dealogic, etc). Good grades, but no internship experience at all.
Recently received an offer from a options market maker as a trainee trader (recent start-up from former IMC/Optiver/AllOptions/etc folks).
Also in the final round interviews for 1) corporate banking gig at a BB, 2) fixed income Asset Management gig at a BB, 3) asset management gig at a global asset management firm.
My goal is to go into private equity in the long-term (either pre or post MBA). I know prop trading won't get me there, but staying in my current job will also not help either.
Should I accept the the trading offer, and continue shop around? Will it look okay on my resume if I find another gig in say 2-3 months down the line and ditch my trading job for asset management / corporate banking? Or should I drop all my current offers / interviews and just focus on getting IB/PE interviews?
Any advice would be appreciated.
It wouldn't look good if you ditched a job after 2-3 months. Would make it seem like your loyalty isn't there
