Advice on Choosing Where to Go for Exchange
Hello all,
I live in New Zealand, and have just found out I've been accepted into my university's exchange program. I have to choose a ranked list of 6 universities that I would be happy to attend, either for a full year, or a semester each at 2 different ones.
What I'm wondering is, how I can best choose my list, with the goal of it increasing my chances of eventually getting a good investment banking job? I understand that an exchange won't play a huge role in reaching this goal, but I might as well choose as best as I can.
I've gone through a few lists online for target schools in both Europe and North America, and have made a list of universities that have been mentioned that are options for me.
I'm wondering if anyone has any advice on what universities I should include on my list, and how I should rank them? I assume that most people here may only know about North American schools, so even if that is the case, I would greatly appreciate any advice on the few of them that I have included in my list (even if they're not highly desirable, it's better than nothing).
Here is the list that I have compiled:
USA:
- UC Berkeley
- UC San Diego
- UC Los Angeles
- Boston College
- University of Texas at Austin
- University of Texas, McCombs School of Business
- University of Virginia
- University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
- University of North Carolina, Kenan-Flagler School of Business
Canada:
University of Toronto
McGill University
Western University, Richard Ivey School of Business
York University, Schulich School of Business
Queens University
Europe:
- Universität St Gallen
- Universita Commerciale Luigi Bocconi
- ESADE
- Stockholm School of Economics
- Grenoble Ecole de Management
- Université Grenoble Alpes
Thanks in advance and sorry for the horribly long post.
