Off-cycle M&A internship
Hi,
I finished my Ba from a non-target uni. And I'm planning to do an M&A off-cycle internship at a BB. Before my Master. Think MS,GS,ML,JPM. I know that it's pretty hard to get in.
Fortunately, I know people that work there with a high position. Think head of region, head of a certain region m&a or some sort of Chief of something . I've met with them and they sent my resume to HR mentioning that I have the right profile for the internship.
My question is, do you think that Hr could refuse my appllication concidering who sent them my resume ?
Thank you for your answers

I think that if top people screened you, Hr should go with the flow.

After interview for off-cycle M&A internship (Originally Posted: 04/25/2017)
Hi guys.
I had an interview for an Offcycle M&A-Internship at an MM-Bank last week. At the end of the 1st AND last interview I was told by HR that they will contact me within two weeks - is this normal? When should I follow up? Should I wait those two weeks and a couple days or call/e-mail HR earlier?
I must also admit that I didnt send any thank you-mails after the interview. It´s an internship in Frankfurt and it isn´t usual here in Germany to send those, but now after reading some discussions in this forum, I´m not sure about IB specifically in Germany - does someone have experience with this? Is it too late now? (3 days later, 5 days with the weekend) It were also 7 different persons in the interviews, should I write everyone?
Sorry for asking that many questions all at once, but I hope you can help me. Thanks!

if someone is in a similar situation and is following this - i didn't get the internship. maybe more luck next time...
Your first concern should be getting out of Germany. That place is a sh*t whole filled with weaklings. Doom is near.
Second thought is that you should always send thank you notes. To everyone. 3-4 days is usually the absolute latest.
God save Germany.
BB M&A / off cycle internship / Europe (Originally Posted: 12/07/2011)
I got an offer for an internship (European BB, M&A) in a European city (no financial center); the group is tiny (PWM clients in the future).
Deals are small (up to 200 Mio). Since the team is very small, I m pretty sure I would learn a lot; however – and here comes the downside - payment seems to be ridiculously low (way less than I got at my prior internships).
Any thoughts on what to do? Is there anyone, who made an internship in Europe elsewhere then London/Frankfurt/Zurich?
Got any other internship offers? Didn't think so. Take it then and don't worry about the pay you'll be getting for 3 / 4 months of your life.
2016 M&A Off-cycle (Originally Posted: 06/04/2016)
Hey guys,
As many banks recruit on a rolling basis, I would like to know if it's a "strategic" time (this summer...) to apply for an off-cycle in January 2017 ?
Danke
Nearly every bank is on a hiring freeze at the Analyst level... ESPECIALLY in the M&A groups. I wouldn't count on many off-cycle seats in M&A in the near future
