AKKR Atlanta office - is the name worth the location trade off?

Wondering if anyone on here has insights regarding AKKR, specifically their Atlanta office. Would the brand name be worth locating in a tertiary city? How hard would it be to try and make a move from here to a tech/software shop in SF/Menlo or NYC?

Currently working in software M&A and looking to make the jump to growth/buyout space.

I knew the tech scene was growing there but was worried it might still be far enough behind SF/NYC to make lateraling more difficult. Any idea how much the comp haircut is? I've heard Vista is the same way but that they scale back to normal then above street the higher you go up the ladder. Does comp normalize as you rise for AKKR?

What do you mean by it "might still be far enough behind SF/NYC"? AKKR is looking at the same tech deals as any other 1st tier PE/VC fund in NY/SF. Lateraling to a better fund will be based on your deal experience and you'd get as good of tech experience at AKKR as you would anywhere else. As long as you have a tie to a city or can demonstrate that you want to be in a certain city then your deal experience and hiring needs are going be the primary factors in determining your next job and whether you can lateral. With that said it sounds like you don't have any ties to Atlanta so honestly AKKR may see through that and you'd be better off applying for a NY/SF fund.

Reviving an old thread to see if there might be any other info on recruitment (HH, target candidates for Associate), junior work split (sourcing vs. execution), and any insight on comp figures would be great too.

Thanks, do you know if recruiting is on cycle and if there are any plans to increase Associate #s? Seems like headcount at the junior level is low in ATL
