(Senior) Internal Auditor
AkzoNobel is a leading global paints and coatings company and a major producer of specialty chemicals. Calling on centuries of expertise, we supply industries and consumers worldwide with innovative products and sustainable technologies designed to meet the growing demands of our fast-changing planet. Sustainability is at the heart of all our business decisions.
The role and its responsibilities
Working from our office in Arnhem, your main purpose in this role is to provide assurance on operational processes and to advise management on internal controls improvements.
This requires you to lead teams on risk based operational process audits. The work is project based and varies from e.g. auditing the implementation of a consolidation system on a corporate level to auditing a sales process in Barcelona or a supply chain audit in Sao Paulo.
Having prepared audit reports you communicate and discuss with management any risks and weaknesses and their potential impact on AkzoNobel's performance and reputation. You then work with management to develop risk mitigation solutions and share best practices.
As such, this is a demanding role for a skilled professional able to support IA's innovative approach to change while leading integrated audit teams. Good report writing skills are essential, as is the ability to develop practical solutions for identified issues. After 2-5 years of gaining exposure to all layers of our organization in this role you will be perfectly positioned to move on to the next level within IA or to a business role.
Approximately 30-50% of your time will be spent outside the office and will include international travel and possibly some weekends. All on-site engagements are planned for a maximum of two weeks and scheduled well in advance.
