Am I Being Too Shortsighted?

As the story goes, currently a little over a year in my analyst role at a lender with about 3 years post UG experience. Currently doing duties not listed on the initial JD but I'm fine with that as I know I'm lucky to be employed. But man do some of the people I work with suck and management is very non-receptive to new ideas or constructive criticism.

That has been an ongoing problem and I first noticed the problems when I first started last year. Numerous employees have been let go as time has gone on so I am watching my six a bit more than usual. Additionally, the duties I have now are the same ones I had at my old job, and that was part of the reason why I left. Now there is no telling when I can get back to the duties I was originally hired for...

That said, I am in the running for a couple debt/equity brokerage roles and a possible BB role. Of course, my near term goal is a buyside function, but clearly the market is a bit frozen. I have came close to the edge with my current firm but obviously cannot leave without another role lined up, so that's why I'm talking with the d/e and BB firms.

Am I being shortsighted here? If offered one of the roles, should I take it? I'm really starting to get sick of my coworkers and some of the "strategic" decisions made by management. Should mention that previous analysts at my current firm usually last around a 1 - 1.5 years before they depart ... What do you all think?
