This is in that grey area where you can do it but have to tell them during the interview, preferably at a convenient time or if they ask. When you do disclose it, disclose it in a polite manner and make it seem as if it was accident that you didn't tell them earlier.

Yeah if I'm gonna keep it real here, no one really cares and this is a bit of an overthink. As long as you don't outright lie.

 

Unless you have a formal acceptance to said college, forget about it. The only time I entered this gray area was when I was accepted to a couple of good schools but didn't commit to one yet (similar situation to yours) so for local internships, I just put on the college I was "expected" to transfer into and during the interview, I casually said I received formal acceptance and "should" be transferring in xyz but didn't commit to a school yet. Mid-Summer the guys were asking me where I was headed next fall and I explained xyz school didn't work out  so I'm going to xyz instead they didn't care at all.
