Am I Screwed for Consulting as a Junior Transfer?
Looking to transfer schools for non-academic/recruitment reasons. My current school I would label as a semi-target, but my new school is slightly better and probably gets recruiting from all major places. I can PM specific schools if curious. I have been going through IB recruiting a little, and don't think its really for me, but it happened so early that some people were having interviews in March for 2020. I know consulting timelines aren't as bad, so how much of a disadvantage does transferring really put me at if consulting is what I'm going for? I know consulting timelines are usually in the fall, and there's a lot more opportunities for FT too if junior internships don't work out. If I network with some students/alum and the recruiting teams over the summer, could I be good to go into recruiting in the fall? I didn't think it would be an issue for consulting, but some people have been telling me otherwise, so I wanted to hear your guys' opinions.
