Thank you for the AMA! Tips on what study material to use for CFA Level I June 2020? I just graduated Undergrad in May so still comfortable with knowledge from Finance coursework.
I would suggest you to go for Schweser books as they are good enough for level I. In case you need video format then IFT materiel is the best.
Moreover, you should always solve as many question as possible from CFA Curriculum and online topic test from CFA Institue. Practicing questions will give you great confidence and help you sail through the exam. All the best !!!
CFA L3 candidate here. Was not a fan of IFT at all - very heavy use of accented Indian presenters. Their videos were also boring.
For L1 you can get away with Schweser, but Mark Meldrum is the go-to for L2 and L3, he's also great for L1 if you prefer learning through videos. Best of luck next year.
Taking L1 next June, but thanks also for the advice about Mark Meldrum for L2-3.
What did you do to prepare to become an Instructor in your aforementioned program ? I'm thinking of opening a training program for Financial Modelling, Valuation, and Debt Restructuring and i still don't know the stuff i should include in those program.
Thankyou!
I based my training on real time IB experiences. Included content which requires to be great IB analyst. Also, I included content based on the pain points i had while cracking interviews, project work etc.
Hope that helps !
I never really got into a real IB (I came from O&G and Consulting Background) but i do know how to model out a projection and a dcf. I'm still learning on how to make an A/D, LBO Model. Do you think it is a good idea to only teach basic projection and dcf? Or should i master a few more before i started teaching?
Also i need some advice on how to teach people. I'm pretty good at explaining stuff but apparently a terrible teacher (if that makes sense). Any communication/public speaking/writing tips?
Do you recommend obtaining the CFA? Is it worth the effort?
Obtaining the CFA charter will surely be a great credential for finance professional. However, It also depends on individual current academic situation.
For example, some people start their career right after bachelor's degree and they don't want or can't go back to B-School by leaving their jobs. CFA credential can be a great career option for them.
I'm an undergraduate and don't plan on MBA or graduate studies afterwards (kind of done with education lol).
How useful is CFA for breaking into the buyside (AM/HF/PE) ?
Best way to learn modeling from scratch???
