I made a final round interview in the LA office in fall 2008 and was probably gonna get an offer until everything tabled due to the economy. I believe the office eventually shut down. But I do have insights at least into that office.
I've worked with some great senior guys out of Baltimore, but in general I know that the junior guys work around the clock. They struggled a lot during the downturn as a public company, but in general the name is pretty well respected. The firm has a lot of "structure" given they are public, which eliminates part of what I believe is the fun of PE.

LA culture was laid back, can't comment on prestige other than they are pretty big so that must say something, comp no idea.
la office was shut down. junior people get worked. not sure what comp is but was told not worth the amount of hours and work put in.
Bumping this instead of starting a new thread. Anyone have any more info on comp, hours, etc.?
