Amphetamine Withdrawal

I don't have ADHD/ADD and I've been taking Vyvanse for about 3 years religiously. I decided to get off of it this summer because my internship got postponed so I might as well stay off the pills. Long story short, Im a full blown bum right now. I'm sleeping 15h+ hours a day and eating mcdonalds whenever I feel like getting into my car.

These pills have changed my life for the better but I am starting to feel the impact they're going to have on my life down the line. I can't be rich if I'm dead so I decided to get off these pills and grind it naturally. What the fuck do I do?

best to taper off gradually...reduce dose by 25% a week...and make sure to eat healthy and exercise every day. this will help with the physical withdrawal symptoms.

best "cure" for the withdrawal symptoms is exercise and hydration...a little caffeine helps also...but don't overdo it...ideally you eventually want to stop taking all stimulants.

The good thing is that amphetamine withdrawal is only psychological, not physical.

Your dopamine levels are abnormally low, because your brain does not receive the boost it is accustomed to. That's why you sleep so much and crave junk food/sugar/series/porn.

How much time do you have? You should've tapered rather than going cold turkey, but now that you've stopped you might as well not consume speed again before you really need it.

I would suggest that you work out or, if you don't have enough energy for that, go for a run. Try to replace junk food with video games or series, because at least you won't get fat.

If you want to stay productive, you might want to look into Modafinil. The compound is currently under study for cocaine/meth/other stimulants withdrawal, and it is strong enough to give you the dopamine boost you need, but you won't build up tolerance nor become addicted to it. If you're in the US, it's also super easy to find.

Take into account that you may also feel very depressed. Btw, long-term amphetamine use won't fuck you up as long as you don't consume more than the therapeutic dose (max 80mg/day).

I got about two months left. I'm also in the mist of recruitment but I'm pretty ready for any interviews that should come up. I was taking 50mg everyday and 100mg every other day. I would sometimes hit 130mg (two vyvanse and one dexedrine of 10mg which is equivalent of 30mg vyvanse. My other problem is that i've been smoking cigarettes for nearly 5 years which I've just stopped as well this week.

I plan on exercising but I don't want to shock my body too much right now.

That's definitely a lot, such level of consumption must be quite expensive.. Anyway, I wish you good luck, it may be hard but you'll manage to get by.

Again, when you're back in the game, you may want to decrease your consumption of amphetamines with for instance 60mg Vyvanse + 200mg Modafinil + 10mg Dexe on a busy day, because taking 100mg or more of speed would definitely fry your neurons on the long run.
