Analys or Associate
Ok so I go to a school that actually gets IBD recruiting! Anyway. I am in research during the day (Full time) and by the time I finish my masters (non-MBA; business related), I will have 2 years of full time work experience. However, this would be "non-finance" and more so market related experience. Do I apply for analyst or associate positions? I am thinking that I would have a decent shot at Analyst positions, but I am not so sure about Associate positions though. I could stretch my degree another year and have 3 yrs of Full time W.E. or would that be foolish?
Is there a such thing as being too qualified for analyst positions?
No chance you are too qualified, probably underqualified, you'd definitely start as an analyst, but your odds are terrible nowadays as a non traditional hire.
Well to be more specific. I do real estate research and I am working on a Masters of Science in Real Estate and DB and Lazard comes to my campus, along with other banks, so you still think i should apply for analyst?
Definitely Analyst
