Analyst Level Interview w/ no IB experience
Main Question: What to expect in terms of technicals?
I have a super day with a fund, about $25B AUM, in NY in just over a week.
Profile info: I'm an MSF student with an economics and finance background. I did an internship this Summer at a real estate valuation consulting firm in SF, a price discrimination consulting job for my undergrad university, was a research assistant in the econ department and did a small accounting consulting gig for a local start up. I've done plenty of equity valuation in the past, just not professionally.
Role/Company info: This is a brand new role in the company. They came to campus and did first rounds, purely behavioral. They did a presentation on campus and stressed that they will be training new hires from the ground up, even if you have strong modeling experience. They also stressed that you didn't necessarily need to have strong finance experience to work there (b/c they plan on training heavily).
This leaves me wondering about the Super Day... What level of technicals at a bare minimum should I be prepared for? As someone with somewhat of an econ/finance background I definitely expect some.. but it's hard to reconcile that with the whole "you don't need finance experience to be a strong candidate". And what are some higher level stuff that I should at least be somewhat prepared for?
