Any data on London SA to FT conversion ratio?
I was a lazy ass during my 3 years of undergrad and had no internships. I'm looking to spend 2 more years doing MSc, hoping to get into IB in London. My school is target, and I'm currently interning in a corporate banking role. Naturally I will apply for '22 SA then hopefully convert to ft (and maybe do O/C in between?), which is what I'm fretting about: failing to convert, for two reasons: 1) MSc debt; 2) visa issues
Is there any data about summer analysts converting to full-time? Or am I asking this the wrong way (like,, it's not actually randomised and completely up for each intern to convert)??
Thanks all.
get an offer first before worrying about conversion lol. just because you go to a target for a masters and have a corporate banking internship doesn't guarantee you an offer, or anything close to it
I see. I'm 100% fixated on getting internship for the time being. Just curious about the future, to make plans B,C, & D
Varies by firm, program, year, etc. Just too many variables to give - what I can tell you is that I have never heard anyone that is 1) likeable and 2) in the top 20% of their intern class not convert. If you thrive to achieve this you have nothing to worry about.
Interesting, thanks for the insight
when you say "top 20% of the intern class" do you mean academically? if not, what's the metric there?
