Any suggestions on my next move
Hi guys,
I had my second round interview 7 business days ago with a very prestigious finance firm. When I left the company, I thought I did very well. The interviewers in the second round did not know when I would be contacted again when I asked them, they informed me they would get back to me soon. However, 7 days passed by, no response. Last week, I contacted the HR coordinator, he told me the company would only contact potential candidates, if the hiring manager is interested in them. Based on my past job hunting experience, it normally does not take that long if a company really wants you to join the team. My friend said probably I am a backup to the top candidate, if that guy does not accept the offer, the company would contact potential back-ups, he told me I should not contact the company again, if I do so I may even lose the backup role. Do you guys have any suggestions on my next move ? Honestly, it is quite painful to wait
You could shoot out an email in a few days just saying how you are still interested in the position. or you could say that you have other offers and have to know asap
Hi Wallstreet313, thank you for your response, but I don't have other offers lined up though.
Look for other work.
I know but you could use it as leverage. But then again you could be out of a job, make it sound like you have the upper hand and your really in demand.
