Anybody here knowledgeable about placing Korean capital in the US real estate market?
I know someone-who I believe is one of the smartest and also the nicest people I know, looking for a job in New York. He is very interested in placing Korean capital in the US. This seems niche to me, but does anybody here have any pointers or know of any head hunters who can help him out? He has over 10 years experience in asset management in Seoul, but has been here in the US for the past year and is almost done with his MSRE. Appreciate any help! He is very proficient in excel, argus and is extremely hard working. Thank you!
bump. Appreciate any help guys.
Sent PM, thank you!
Your best bet (IMO) would probably be to ask headhunters/acquaintances if they have any funds/acquisition team roles that are with a firm that either has sourced capital from SE Asia in the past or that is looking to get into doing so. This would demonstrate a need for someone who speaks the language. He's not going to have the connections to drum up deals at first even though he knows the business, so this is a good foot in the door to bridge the gap while he learns the market, who the players are, etc.
Is he looking for a job? I honestly don’t know any real estate company, small or large, that would sponsor work visa to foreigner....
bump- any Korean Americans here that have connections to Korean firms in the US or know of an opportunity that can use my friends skillset. Appreciate the help!
