Back when in person meetings were a thing, whenever someone was coming in to pitch a book, I'd always try to remember to wear a golf shirt or a dad sweater, depending on the season. I have no idea if anyone cared, it just felt right not to pretend the 'just in case' sport coat hanging on the back of my office door ever saw daylight.

Hah, to show them how nice it was on the other side? Not really. In the pre-covid times, I always dressed up a little more (younger guy on the team, still got (get) carded when buying booze), so felt like it wasn't a bad thing. My boss just wore a golf shirt most of the time. Now I just wear a t shirt to the office most days. The only thing that gets me back into a collared shirt is a management or board meeting. I'll be in my t shirt and quarter zip on Zoom with no concerns, though.

Anyone else used to to purposefully dress down when meeting with IBs?
