Anyone wear Zara to work?

Building a wardrobe now because I start FT in less than a month. Some people in the office wear casual, some wear ties, nobody wears jackets.

I have 3 suits from macy's. One grey, one navy, one grey with pinstripe from the alfani reds.

I have 2 Paul Frederick white shirts that go nicely with ties, as well as a Brooksie with windowpanes.

For pants, I have dockers - aside from the slacks that come with the suits.

I'm about 135lbs and 5'9. Looking to shop at something like Zara for white and light blue shirts, as well as slacks to complement. Any similar brands that fit very well would be acceptable too.

I was looking at these 3 shirts models:

http://www.zara.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/pro…

http://www.zara.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/pro…

and these for slacks:

Thoughts? I'm buying online, because I'm in Illinois and there are no Zaras out here.

Anything else I need? Any recommendations on specific shirt models from other shops?

I have diagonals in white and blue. Definitely my favorites amongst the cheap shirts that I own. I am same height and weight as you so get the smallest size. Pants didn't fit in the waist tho.

I'm around the same measurements are you

I wore slim fit 1mx from express forever, but got a couple of their new 1mx extra slim the other day. PERFECT fit.

I'm in college, I can't afford $100 shirts like these WSO ballers

As far as pants, good luck =/

I find the quality of Zara to be subpar for the prices they charge... plus the fit might be a little too slim for the office. For trousers, try to find Incotex on sale or on Gilt. They go from $100 to $150 but are definitely worth the dollar.

Interestingly, there's a business case study (can't remember if it was by Harvard or IMD) on Zara that said it's clothes are suppose to be fashion-forward, but longevity (wear-and-tear) is a secondary focus (because the target market cared more about modern design at 'reasonable' prices than material quality).

Their strategy is to provide Armani styles at Banana Rep. prices. They're going to have to crimp on quality, so it just depends on your values. As an analyst, I'd be more worried about keeping my clothes intact rather than looking like a baller on a budget. Just my 2 cents.

Don't Know where in IL you are, but I know there's a Zara on Mich. Ave in Chicago. Although the sales tax is a fail.

Quality of Zara is definitely sub par but the style is pretty clutch, I get most of my party clothes from there.

However for work clothes, go to macys, open a card, use a coupon. I just bought 8 shirts - 3 CK, 2 Kenneth Cole, Ben Sherman, and an Alfani (plain white), and another one I can't remember. came out to like 180 after everything. They're new, good looking shirts with small patterns and such. And they look like the same ones everyone is wearing on the street. I'd recommend not paying 60 dollars a shirt from zara when you can get better from Dept. Stores.
