Anything I can do as a college student?

I'm a senior who is grateful to be going to a BB next year in a strong IB coverage group. Senior year of college has been great, and I'm making sure to enjoy it while I can. However, I was wondering if there was anything I could do this year to prep for PE recruiting, since it keeps getting earlier and earlier (especially with the megafunds). I'm finished with my major, and rolling off my club commitments, so I anticipate having a lot more free time next semester.

Should I try and get a lower middle market PE internship during the school year - would this add value to my summer junior IB internship? I was thinking it would be nice to build any experience possible, since the interview process is so early in my first year of IB. Also, I used the search function and have gotten conflicting views on this - is it smart to start networking now and build relationships with current PE investors? I'd likely target my alma mater, but also have heard on this site and through friends that doing so is cringeworthy. Finally, any courses / guides you all recommend?

Thankful for any inputs, and have a happy holiday season!

Networking with your school's alumni is your best bet for now. Don't go in asking for a job, and don't be unprepared without questions. THAT'S the cringey part. If you can, talk in person and pay for their coffee. Then follow up with a thank you via email, text etc.

Good luck fellow monkey.
