I'm attracted to the idea of a pseudo iphone with a waterproof/shockproof screen, would definitely be desirable. everyone I know who has a galaxy loves it, the downside is my firm only allows for berries or iphones, so no dice.

I think the watch is lame, the only technology I want in my watch is a tide chart, I need my watch to take a beating or be dressy, and the iwatch is neither of those. that being said, we're long AAPL and I'm sure people will buy these en masse, so I can't say it's ALL bad.

I personally think there are a lot better options if you are looking into android. I am really not a fan of what Samsung is doing lately.

I also can't stand this new trend of wearable tech, I do not like smart watches. I think they look ugly and obnoxious. All other major tech companies have made them and now Apple, which I am sure will crush everyone else when it comes to sales.

When it comes to the iWatch I think the smaller one would look a little bit better on people's wrists, although the larger one will likely be easier to use. But to justify the price point, how many of you spend wayyyyyy more on a watch than 350 dollar that can only tell the time, and maybe be used as a stop watch?

I was thinking about getting one of the jawbone things for my fiance and I, but I think I'll just end up getting both of us the watches, if she even wants one.

Did the even say anything about if the Watch is water proof or water resistant? I think that would be a HUGE factor for a lot of people.

Also, @"thebrofessor" give it time. The Watch just came out, and I'm sure that there will be an app that will do just that.

It's going to be water resistant, so you can get it wet in things like walking in the rain, washing your hands, etc. but to take it off when going swimming and taking a shower.

The shock/impact resistant part, I haven't been able to find much out yet, but like I said with the sapphire glass that should protect the screen, and then it's also built out of metal, so the only things you should be worrying about are inside.

I think the big advantage of the watch is that you don't have to manufacture a reason to pull a phone out of your pocket you can just let everyone know that you are a fanboy with your wristwatch.

This to all my hatin' folks seeing me getting guac right now..

I would say the Samsung Galaxy S5, the LG G3, the HTC One M8 and Sony Xperia Z2 are all amazing. Also, what's been going on with Moto/Nexus is definitely worth a look. The performance for the cost for Nexus phones is unmatched IMO.

I like Apple phones but decided to mix it up and try Android for awhile. All three major platforms (including WP8) are great.

Why is the S5 noted as the only equal to the iphone? Apple fanboys have to compare it to the worst of the android flagship phones to make the iPhone equal.

I have a Galaxy S5 and really like it. The display is amazing, the camera is amazing and web surfing is lightning quick (on Verizon). My only complaint is the so-so battery life. But I bought an extra battery and keep it in my work bag.

I had an iPhone 4 and 5 before and my first smart phone was a Moto Droid. To be honest, iOS and Android are both so good these days you can't go wrong. WIndows Phone is probably the best OS visually and with FB integration but the app support is just not there.

Spec-wise, I think the Note 4 will be tops in the market when it comes out next month. Right now, the LG G3 is the best phone around. I went to Best Buy last week and tried it out. The G3 is an awesome phone.

The S5 is a great phone, just saying it is the worst of the android flagship phones. Not that its a crappy phone. It's like comparing company As top product to company Bs worst to have an equal playing field.

Really knew how it was going to look way ahead of time, but I like it. Damage tests on the leaked screens seem to show that they're damn near un-breakable unless you fling this thing off your roof or out the window of a moving car. If you don't plan on doing that, you should be good. My 4 took many drops to concrete by accident with only slight scuffs on the edge where it hit first, no cracks whatsoever. 5C has taken a few spills, still literally as new. I don't get where this idea of them being delicate comes from, the GS5 is mostly plastic, and ugly plastic at that. Even the 5C has an internal aluminum chassis.

Going to go for the 5.5" 128gb when I can afford it, sick of running out of storage and I love big screens, that's the only thing I was missing being an iPhone user.

Bobb:

Where have you seen damage test for the new iPhones? Everything I have seen was for the predicted sapphire glass which wound up not being included. To say the iPhone is durable and doesn't crack is laughable, I have seen the slightest drop shatter them

To say they aren't durable period is kind of short-sighted...everyone I know owns an iPhone...ratio of drops to cracks is pretty high...so that's my experience. All phones crack at some point when dropped, iPhones aren't more susceptible than the others.

The leaked tests were not sapphire it was later determined...they couldn't have been because no such part ever existed at the time. The factory in China couldn't even get the Sapphire blocks from GT into usable pieces for the screen until it was way too late. The tests didn't really indicate sapphire anyway, it doesn't have the characteristics those parts showed in testing.
