Apply to jobs you have no interest or knowledge about

What are your guys opinion about applying to jobs you have no specific knowledge or interest about in the sector?

I see a lot of positions available in specific sectors such as oil, energy, real estate, shipping etc. Even though I have knowledge about the sectors, I would like to learn more about it if I get hired. I easily get interested in something if I spend enough time on it.

I have no knowledge or interest in those fields, but I am more interested in the specific work these industries do. How likely are recruiters going to hire someone with no personal interests in those sectors, but will probably be more interested as I work there?
