Applying to a Sales Jobs When You Know it Might not be the Best Fit

Eventually most jobs in finance require sales skills.

Upside: Use the $$$ as a motivator to make those cold calls and pushy sales. Series 6,7, & 63. New enjoyable career. Two steps in the right direction towards Corp Banking.

Downside: I lose my job/get fired and carry that burden when applying to another job.

Would there be any more downside that I am not seeing and if I don't succeed would a future manager use this as an excuse to not hire me? Pretend you are the future manager and have this applicant in front of you.
