Applying to Banks, Deadlines and a question
Hi guys, new here but i've read WSO alot. I am currently working for a large bank in London in a Structured Credit department. I go to University in the US, Wisconsin Madison. I was over here studying abroad and decided to interview for a big firm here, and got it, so I've had a nice summer in London.
I have two questions:
-
Do any banks have dealines before about September 15th for full time analyst positions? I get back to the US September 1st, and plan to get all my apps done before the 10th, just wanna make sure there are no banks I'm missing.

I work in Project Finance. For those who don't know its basically providing financing to a single asset and using the revenues from that asset to cover the debt service. It has been very good, but i want to keep my options open. Are my chances good for BB M&A? How about BB S&T? I think my story is good enough to get some interviews even tho I go to a semi crap school.
Any feedback would be good. Slow day in the office, and I really have been wondering about this kind of stuff.
Thanks, and have a good day
so... you're going to apply online for positions... and you're not sure whether you want to do banking or S&T... and the market is in absolute shambles... do you expect an interview?
I want to do banking, just wondering what the options are for S&T. I'll change the question, what are my chances for i-banking, as you correctly stated applying online.
bluntly: no chance. nicely: you're chances are not very good.
for the encouragement, anyone else agree or disagree?
um... just ignore b2... i guess the general opinion would be 'the market is bad bla bla bla', 'banks doing very little actual full time recruiting' etc,so chances are gonna be slim but who noes... im sure they will still be interviewing kids at your uni so just try your best :)
Also, if granted an interview, are you planning on flying back over to London? If so, and you're lucky enough to have multiple interviews, do you really anticipate them all being at them same time?
Just some food for thought...
I am intending to interview in New York City, not London. I didn't make that clear. If I get a full time offer from the Bank in London it would be for here, but I would still want to interview in NYC as thats where I'm from. Does that change anything?
So, you want to apply and work for a bank in NYC?
People from Madison do get into ibanking, but I have a feeling a lot of it is networking. You might want to get started...
