Applying to Tier 2's as an Experienced Hire

I'm about 8 months into my consulting career with IBM GBS.

The work I mostly do is around implementing enterprise software - traveling 4 days a week to our client's site. Although this is a critical part of our consulting practice, I want to transition to a role that is strategy and/or operations based and this may involve a potential exit opportunity down the line.

I'm well aware IBM is much more of a technology consulting company. If I wanted to make the transition companies such as:

  • L.E.K, Strategy&, Deloitte, OW, ATK, Booz, etc. (I've realized MBB is pretty much out of reach without an MBA)

How would I go about doing this? Has anyone made a similar lateral move? I'm going to speak with my Client Partner to see if there is any additional high level/strategic based work I can assist with on top of the work I am already assigned.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
