approximate experienced trader comp?

could anyone report on average total comp figures (salary, bonus, etc.) for an experienced trader at a BB (let's say an ED with 10 years experience). Obviously this will vary widely but if anyone has any specific knowledge given a product, or any estimates, please share.

thanks all.

which product(s) do u want to know about? Salaries are pretty standard and a small part of the overall comp package, but most sellside traders in the markets i'm thinking about who are good can command something between 6%-12% of P&L. You do the math.

In terms of guarantees, which are harder to come by these days, it's possible that you'll see ppl with 2-3yr deals @ $4 bricks in total, heavily back-end loaded with clawback provisions. These were only available to ppl w/ substantial trading volume share in their names/products and a very successful verifiable P&L.

baddebt88:
There is no typical p&l. Thats like asking a startup company, "What will be your yearly earnings?". If you are good it will be eight/nine figures. If you are bad, you will be out on the street. Learn to live within your base salary and be the best at your job. Money will take care of itself.

nicely said...."Learn to live within your base salary and be the best at your job. Money will take care of itself"
