Ardent Mills Trader Development
I saw that Ardent Mills runs a trader development program, but there is not a whole lot of info out there. Does anybody know the scheme, how it is structured, timeline before trading starts etc?

Career Resources
Interviewed for it during college. It was a weird one back then...you rotate around through a few roles but apparently no guarantee of getting a "jr trader" sort of role at the end or even something related to trading.
Good shop in general though. Give it a try
Appreciate the response. The lack of a trading related role at the end is important to know. Honestly a lot of what attracted me was that it seemed like a path to trading and it was in denver as opposed to say Valdosta GA (no offense to anyone living there). Do you mind if I pm you?
To be fair, not a lot of guaranteed paths to trading in physical commodities.
As other posters have said, there is no guarantee that you will be trading at the end of the program but this is common across all commodity trading opps. If you are going somewhere that tells you that you will be trading at the end of your rotation then you are being lied to. No place can guarantee they will have a spot open at the end of your 2-3 years.
From what I have heard about Ardent's program though you sit on the same desk as the traders and learn from them closely. Most likely you would start out helping with logistics or something along those lines and then if you can prove yourself you will slowly start to get more and more responsibilities - eventually leading to you handling some trading duties.
Do you think it would be more beneficial to do this scheme over merchandising at an ABC?
It depends on what you want to do. An ABCD will have more trading opportunities by virtue of being a trading houses. Ardent Mills will probably provide more career stability and less moving. Either would be a great opportunity and can lead to a career as a trader.
