Are IB FT Offers group specific?
Thinking about ft recruiting for this summer and I am wondering if FT offers are generalist or group specific. Any insight would be appreciated.

Career Resources
Depends on the bank and the business needs.
By any chance do you know if the BB generally do that?
Most BB's will do a placement process for the internship program. Then, you get a full-time offer in the group you interned with. Sometimes if you don't summer with the firm, you will get a generalist offer and be placed later around the start date / training. For the most part, I would say you tend to get group-specific offers.
So lets say I want to switch banks between SA and FT, would that offer usually be a generalist offer?
I really can't tell you, man, it really depends on how each bank runs its process. Sometimes groups run their own process outside of the regular recruitment process. I switched banks between SA and FT. For some of the people that are going to my bank, they received generalist offers and will be placed during training. I received a group-specific offer.
Could you maybe elaborate on how you went about the FT recruiting process? Im interested in making a similar move to go upstream from my current SA and was wondering whats the most effective way to go about the process. How did you go about networking, getting into the interviews, balancing between the return offer timeline from your SA while recruiting, etc. Any insight would be much appreciated, thanks.
