Are non-accounting/finance majors grilled with technical questions?
I'm wondering do banks ever just grill non accounting/finance majors with technicals questions to see if they are truly interested in ibanking.
I don't think it would be very fair to grill kids that have no real financial background on the technicals
It really depends...normally interviewers will be easier on the non-business/finance/accounting people. But, you should know a little bit about the industry, what exactly an investment bank is and what they do, and maybe where the markets are at and general info like that. Probably be good to know what the four accounting statements are, how they interact, and basic ratios like P/E, etc...
Also should know just a few basic things that have been happenning in the market, maybe some recent financial news, etc...(Wall Street Journal for this)
