Do bulge brackets pay the highest comp to their employees (junior level ofc), specifically in IBD. Any input would be appreciated!

jesus learn to find info by yourself
thanks prospect
120k-150k all in at MS as a first-year tech analyst + 40-60 hrs weeks
Use the search. Lot of comp threads and data
I’m top MM and get the same as a few friends at BB’s
Some EB's and up-and-coming Boutiques have significantly higher comp than the BB's. Usually An1 at BB's are 85K and some EB's are at 100K
What about among senior bankers, is it the same or do BBs take the cake
At senior levels it’s usually more eat what you kill so hard to compare but payout rates tend to be higher at EBs hence why a lot of established senior bankers jump from BB to EB.
In terms of aggregate comp, I’d say on average senior bankers at EBs earn more as it’s a bit self selecting. You basically have to be reputable, established to move to an EB and also there’s no where to hide. That’s not to say that there aren’t some heavy hitters at BBs, there are plenty BUT there’s also a lot of deadweight senior bankers who got their place simply by being around but do fk all year-in-year-out, except maybe toss up a big debt deal every couple of years.
Depending on the year, I know top bucket at some mm banks (HW, Blair, etc) get higher than BBs
Jefferies pays more than BBs
BBs actually pay on the lower end at the junior level. You can get more at some EBs and select MMs but it’s nothing too significant at the analyst level
