Are they wasting my time?
I recently made it to the final round interview process, which will take a day in their office, with a well respected boutique firm specializing in my niche area, which I am of course elated about. However, after reviewing a lot of their analyst and associate profiles I can't help but feel they might be wasting my time a little. Almost 100% of their employees were educated at the same 3 ivy league schools, clearly through on campus recruiting. Despite being on the faculty at one of those schools (which is a considerable achievement for someone under 25 with no PhD), I can't help feeling that I am somehow already dinged because of my education, though having attended two very well known institutions.
What do you guys think? I am doomed from the start as I anticipate, even after making the final round?
No point in speculating. Third round is further than most will get, and what's the alternative: not show up because you "think they're wasting your time?" That is outrageous. Just do your best and don't give yourself anymore excuses for getting dinged.
This is the most self destructing mindset. A little self confidence can go a long way. Prep for the interview like your life depended on it and crush the interview. You wouldn't have gotten a superday invite if you weren't still in the running.
have some confidence, man
