Are you ever too old?

Hey everyone,

Long time lurker here with his first post.

Do you believe someone could be too old for a career in finance if they didn't go right to collage from HS?

I took a few years off and joined the military and will be commencing my degree in a few months time and by the time I finish my Post-Grad work and MBA I will be around 29/30 is that too old?

MBA@PE:
I was expecting you were going to say 40 or 45. 29-30 post MBA is not too old at all. That’s right around the average MBA associate age. I’ve seen ex military associates joining in their mid to late 30s as well.

Ok thank you, It just seems like such a young mans game these days.

Hopefully the direction and discipline I picked up outweighs their youthful exuberance. I feel as though once I sat down with an MD it would be a fair fight but the people who take one look at your resume and toss it aside once they see and older intern is what worries me.
