Are you losing respect for Goldman?

I've always thought of GS as the pinnacle in the world of I-banking. According to a FT survey, people have been losing respect for the company over the past year. I dunno, I would give up my left nut to work for GS after B-school is over.

Never really had much respect for them, to be honest. Their using their influence to get away with everything from front-running and insider info to early allocations is hardly news; it's just that Taibbi's childish article brought some of it (albeit in a terribly dumbed down and exaggerated form) to the average person, who annoyingly now thinks he or she now knows everything there is to know about investment banking. I've always had more respect for JPMorgan (and MS to an extent) as a bank anyway.

when your an innovator, there's always gonna be haters

definition difference between alpha and beta

gs is a great model firm for all

eva wonder why smart ppl work for them and not B or C????? Get a brain...

that rolling stone opinion columnist picked on GS (versus some of the other firms being fined/distressed) for his own presteige, understandable, for flash/shock value

hatin on gs is like hating on mckinsey, harvard, kkr, etc. losers give their alike energy to others unfortunately, where their actions/choices reflect who they are
