Ares REPE NY or CS IB

What's up everyone.

Got an offer last summer for Ares REPE NY and CS IBD. Ended up going with Ares, but now wondering if that was the best choice.

In your guy's opinion, which is the better offer?

Student at H/Y/P if that helps

In almost same situation last year and went with IB. REPE is quite interesting but it’s different from all other industries hence the skillsets learnt are different. However, If you are into real estate then that’s certainly a better choice than IB.

I mean if you already made the choice and can't get the IB offer back then you're just doing yourself a disservice by thinking about "what if". It really comes down to whether you want to be in RE or in vanilla IB. Both options were excellent, and hopefully you chose based on your gut and what you could see yourself doing long term. Don't get wrapped up into the prestige stuff thats on this site where some people throw real estate as not as "prestigious" or "good". Ultimately, if you enjoy what you're doing then you'll end up more successful.

If you want to do real estate then do real estate. Personally, i'd rather do IB, but I mean, this is the IB forum. Ask in the RE forum and you'll get the opposite opinion.
It's a good offer so idk what you're going to gain by asking for the opinions of WSO users at this point. You should pursue your interests. You only made a mistake if you don't enjoy real estate, but then you wouldn't have even applied for the role. Besides, you can always recruit FT if you don't enjoy the internship.
