When a recruiter asked for 3 references, does it mean you got the job?
When the job interviewer/recruiter asks you for 3 different references/recommendations. Does it mean you already got the job at this point? And the references are just to make sure your credentials are true?
No it doesn't mean you already got the job but probably is still a good sign
Can depend on how far along you are in the process. For one of my offers, HR emailed me after the superday saying that everyone loved me, and then they said the next step, which was the final step, was to provide 2-3 references. Once the references supported me, I got the offer.
Keep in mind though that this might differ by the company. Some companies may ask for references after a first round and then only give you a superday if your references supported you.
Does not mean you have the job! I have had IBs ask me for multiple candidates references at a time. It is a good sign because you are being seriously considered but it is definitely not a done deal.
And if they ask for 4 it means they're directly placing you in the role of CFO
Asked for references after in person interview, is it a sign that I should hear back soon? (Originally Posted: 05/10/2018)
I went in for an in person interview with 3 of the PM's at a small asset management firm recently after passing an initial phone interview. They asked me for references after I sent a thank you followup email the next day after the in person interview. Is this a good sign that an offer will be made soon? What does asking for references mean when they ask for it after an in person interview?
Accusamus a animi et fugit magnam neque ut. Repellat totam earum sint velit. Deleniti eveniet dolores recusandae qui iusto. Quaerat quasi ipsum aut veniam et.
