I recently accepted an offer at an EB in NYC that is known to sponsor. Im a canadian citizen but have a 3 year STEM visa. When going through the interview process, I made it clear I was from Canada but I didn't check the "will need sponsorship box." Should I bring it up to HR that I am going to be on an OPT visa and ask for them to sponsor an H1B? Is it possible that they take away the offer if I do? Is an H1B even worth it or should I stick with OPT then move to TN when the time comes?

Please tell HR. Hiding it isn't going to help when you start. Be upfront and you already have accepted the offer. It's not good that you didn't check the box to begin with, even if you mention you're from Canada, the interviewer isn't going to tell HR "please look into this" because they will assume you have everything covered.

No your not worthy and it aint good .
Don't disclose it now. You don't need them right now to sponsor you as you can work for 3 years on OPT without worrying about it, correct? Bring this up 1.5 year in into your role and then come up with a thoughtful Made-up reason behind change in circumstances. Makes sense?

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, id have 3 years before they would need to do anything, hard to know if I'll even be there at that point.
