Asset management exit opportunities - should I swap industry now?
Hi Monkeys,
Long-time stalker, first time posting. Hopefully, you can help me with the questions I have.
For some background:

1)
While I like the idea of working in AM now, I'm aware that this may change at some point in the future. As such, I was wondering what my exit ops might look like on 5-year & 10-year time horizons. Would I be stuck to a given asset class, strategy, etc? Could I make the jump to PE / HF / Something else?
2)
Going into graduation with no FT lined up, I applied for a bunch 1-year masters degrees at some top-tier European business schools; I'm confident I'll get into at least one. Would it be wise to apply for some IBD roles once I'm on my new program, or should I stick with AM? Does IBD provide a stronger career foundation / more future flexibility than AM?
I'm looking forward to seeing some of your thoughts.
Regards,
Omeg
