Assoc -> VP timing in UK

Curious to understand how the timeline from Assoc (post-banking) to VP looks like across different firms. Anyone who can share insights on program lengths and interim steps (eg Senior Associate)? Have heard ranging from 4 (2+2 / 4) to 6 (3+3) years - what's the most common timeline? Europe and US can be different so focused on UK for now.
