Associate Promo at Mid-Tier BB or MBA?

Hello all,

Throwaway account for obvious reasons. I'm currently a senior analyst that has been accepted to a couple M7 programs in the past, and might go for it again.

Would it be absolutely stupid of me to go to an M7 just to recruit as an associate for a top BB/EB? I'm currently at a CS/UBS/DB and would like to end up at a EVR/Laz or GS/JP. Let's assume I won't be paying full sticker for my MBA.

The idea of a 2 year break sounds nice, and I wouldn't mind a change in geography for a while.

Edit: Also considering top euro MBA programs like LBS because why not. Idk.
