Audit-background accountant, offer from small PE, yay or nay?

My ultimate goal would be to be working for a well-established PE firm in my region.

I have a financial services audit background from London, and now back in my home country looking for a career change but it hasn't been all that great.

I have been offered a position in a relatively new small PE firm as an analyst. the pay isn't great, but that doesn't matter as I am focused on the potential.

My alternative option atm would be to work on Transaction advisory at a big 4. (with bigger salary than the PE opportunity for now)

I am wondering whether the PE opportunity will provide me with any decent exit opps if I do learn enough out of it. The size and its relatively new-ness is of a concern...
but then if this is my chance to get PE experience, i'm thinking it may be a no-brainer and I should take it. rather than being in a big 4 all day getting indirect experience.
