Audit Manager to M&A secured - recommended courses for prep?
Hi all,
Currently an Audit Manager at a big 4 in the UK, am ACA qualified, and did a Finance degree at a non-target. I've eventually seen the light and have secured a move to Corporate Finance (M&A) as an executive/assistant manager working at another big 4 - with a view to moving to MM IB further down the road.
My question is; of the many available training packs and courses, which would you recommend for someone with my experience to make sure that I am as prepared as I possibly can be on day 1?
I am obviously very familiar with financial statements, tax, and technical accounting but have zero experience of building models from scratch, creating pitchbooks, and the actual practical tasks involved in an M&A role.
If there are any former accountants that have used any courses at all while making the transition I'd be really keen to hear your experiences. Most of them seem to focus on basic finance concepts (DCFs, financial statements, time value of money etc) so I want to make sure its worth it before I drop a few hundred quid on one.
This forum has been massively helpful over the years, so I really appreciate anyone that takes the time to reply. It might not quite be a BB IB offer but this role is a big deal for me so I want to make sure I kill it from day one.
Cheers
