Audit to Big 4 FDD to IB? Please help with decision.
Hi all,
my dream is to break into banking as an analyst. I was a high performer in big 4 audit but making the move to FDD shortly. I have a couple questions:
1) Does FDD firm name matter? Such as KPMG Deals vs. EY SaT vs. Deloitte M&A?
2) when would be the best time to jump into banking as an FDD professional?
much appreciated for your all of your time!
Same route as you high performer at big 4 audit and went to FDD to try to break in to IB but now not so sure that's what I want to do anymore. Why do you want to break into IB?
I want to break into IB for the more interesting work and compensation compared to Big 4. I know I can put in the long hours, so why not shoot for something that compensates it more adequately than what I'm getting currently? I'm curious how come you don't want to break into IB, and are you still in FDD?
I've seen a few people make that jump from FDD to banking. Right now is the best time as any to make the jump, banks are struggling to hire junior bankers.
I will be moving into FDD as a senior role soon. Would 6mo-1yr be enough experience in the role to make the hop to IB?
I'm not sure but based on the market, no hurt in applying and trying to break in.
Check out this thread below if the link works, I commented on B4 audit to FDD to IB a little:
