August Internship

Hey guys,

I know this topic has been discussed in the past but the threads I found were for slightly different circumstances.

I am a rising senior at a complete non-target. I just heard back from an boutique investment bank who is allowing me to come into their office for 2-3 weeks in August. I have 2 previous internships in the industry but this would be my first investment banking. My internship earlier in the summer was in PWM and just ended so there is no conflict there.

I think it'll make a big difference in recruiting to have an experience to point to within banking. My question to you is: how do I phrase this on my resume? I am tempted to put Investment Banking Summer Analyst (August 2011) but I am not sure if that will be looked down upon because it was for less than a month.

Also- this internship is located in NYC and not anywhere near I attend undergrad.

Thoughts? Thank you very much in advance.

Thanks for the quick response. I was thinking of that and interning from like july 25-aug5 but I wasn't sure how that would look on the background check. I guess technically it is correct but I just want to double check with you guys.

Try to do it from end of July - August, then put it on your resume as a training program (so as to differentiate from your internship) and list as much as possible about what you learn, in-depth.

That said, you'd have to put effort into learning while you're there. Good luck!
