automobile industry short

hi, does anybody have any experience here with the automobile industry and especially shorts in the industry? came across a major automobile company that's been apparently not following safety norms (based on quick research, still need to do in depth research if it's worth it) in one of its market segments and if anybody has any experience, would like to talk to you about it since I'm not sure how car recalls and norms surrounding safety features work in the automobile industry and how that affects price - basically to see if this idea is worth pursuing even further
