awkward cover letter?
I mentioned all the people I have been networking with in the firm. Does the cover letter look awkward in this way? Or should I not mentioned all of them? just pick some of them?

if you spoke to 20 ppl, no need to list them. It's probably best to just list one or two that you had a very strong rapport with. I know you want to show how you went the extra mile but if you list too many it works against you. All you need is one to vouch for you. If they ask one of the person you mentioned and they have no idea who you are, then it's better not to mention that person at all.
thanks! I spoke to 9 ppl. But I think there will be only 4-5 of them remember me. Will it be ok to mention all of 5 ppl?
And for one of the firms, I talked to 4 ppl. But that was a year ago on info session. Don't think any of them will remember me. Should I not mention any of them?
Thanks again!
majority of the time they won't rmb you at an info session. unless you were somehow extremely memorable, I recommend don't bother mentioning.
out of the 4-5 that you think rmb you, why not send them a note telling them you are applying. if they rmb you they'd reply and maybe even help push your app along. Then mention their name. People want to feel appreciated and you mentioning them in your cover letter shows that. But if you don't have a good relationship with them definitely don't have a stranger's name on your app.
This is a great link for consulting cover letters, but be sure to check out #5:

It honestly won't matter because 99% of them aren't read.
But if you do care, just mention 1 or 2 people with whom you've had a good relationship (NOT just a single conversation, but at least a couple over the recruiting process). And put it in a context so that it doesn't sound like you're just namedropping.
I'd strongly recommend not mentioning them all (it will look super awkward and will not help your application in any way). Mention only the 1 or 2 that know you best.
Also, mentioning people in your cover letter will make almost no difference to your application anyway. What WOULD be helpful, would be for one of the people you met to give you an internal referral- you should at least get an interview if that happens. Could you ask for this?
I am applying Bridge workshop for now. So I won't ask for referral. Hopefully they will invite me for full time interview though I almost believe they will reject me for the workshop immediately. So my plan is to ask for referral, if I did not receive full time interview invitation in June. Any suggestions? Thanks
That sounds like a plan- only worth asking for a referral once you know that you'll definitely be applying through the 'standard' application process. Good luck!
