back office target schools

For BO jobs, how do BBs hire? Do they have some kind of target schools (say some big state schools-no disrespect) for these? I'll assume HYPS kids won't even consider these jobs.

Do BBs look at online apps for BO jobs?

SO even for BO they don't look at online apps?

They do. I know one person who applied online and got an interview.

To be honest the fact of going to Harvard doesn't mean you will not be happy working in the back office . I think is more about who you are and what you want for your life. Besides, I don't think you even need a degree to get into the back office. In my experience in FO there are more people who studied Finance, Banking, Law and many have master degrees. In Back Office most people have degrees in Business, not experience in other sector, no master degrees and some employees dont even have degrees.

At least in Europe there are people from all type of universities in both, back office and front office jobs.Nevertheless, the percentage is different. So for example, when I worked in the front office around 50% come from a top 10 European/American University, I remember that many of my coworkers came from ESADE and Columbia . Then 40% are from respectable universities such as Aberdeen, Glasgow, University of Barcelona , Boston College .Finally, around 10% came I never heard about such as university of portsmouth, university of Castille-la mancha or Florida International University.

At some point during my master degree I got a back office job, since I needed the money I accepted. In this job around 10% did not have degrees, 70% came from universities I never heard about, 10% from respectable universities and 10% from top universities.
