Background Check - GPA Requirement
Hey guys, long time reader first time poster. I recently networked my way into a credit analyst interview - did really well through the interview process and was extended an offer. The posting says there is a gpa requirement but on the application my gpa was never asked and it isn't on my resume. I had a phone screening with HR, a phone interview with the head of the dept. followed by 4.5 hours worth of in person interviews and there was no mention or question of my gpa. I'm going through the background check now after accepting the offer but I'm wondering if there's a chance they'd rescind my offer if they request my transcript and realize my GPA is under the requirement.
If your transcript hasn't been requested yet, it is very unlikely it will be at this point. Usually a minimum gpa on a job posting is just used as an initial screen.
Appreciate the response - this is my thought process as well. I will know by the end of the week.
What was the result of this? Did they find out you lied about your GPA? I don't want this to happen to me
I never lied about my GPA - they never asked for it and I don't have it listed on my resume, there's a big difference. They didn't end up requesting my transcript during the background check so I cleared and I start in a few weeks.
Joking -- I lie though so that's good to know
